I found this band called Everything Everything last night and I had to just take a second to respect their originality. I mean, they aren’t exactly groundbreaking, I’d say that they fit right inside of the post-Klaxons/post-MGMT spaced out indie rock scene, but they pay more attention to small details in their music than either of those bands. It’s definitely worth a listen.

I have no idea why people didn’t like the new MGMT record, but I’m just glad that they’re not making “Electric Feel” and “Kids” anymore. I respect them for making the music that they want to make, because artistic integrity is the most important thing in music.
MGMT - It’s Working

It’s rare, but this morning I played this song by Hooray for Earth and before the song was even finished I was looking for the whole CD. It’s not out yet, but if this song is anything to go by, it looks pretty promising. Pitchfork nailed their sound perfectly: think MGMT, Yeasayer, Passion Pit, and one that they left out, Animal Collective.

Just found out about this band called Bear Hands. Didn’t read too much into them except that they’re real good friends with MGMT (and it definitely sounds like they’ve learned a thing or two from them). If you like MGMT, I’d give it a shot.
